Personality Assessments

Skillsarena have a selection of psychometric assessments to fit a wide range of sectors and most budgets. Our tools give a unique insight into suitability and potential performance by helping to deliver a comprehensive, valid and defensible process.

Psychometric profiling is used to identify aptitude and personality traits which have proven relevant to successful performance of a role, such as sales or customer services.

The assessments contain structured questions, to which there are a range of answers. These are not tests as such; there are no right or wrong answers. The candidate is required to respond by rating their preferred way of behaviour in a working environment in terms of “most like me” through to “least like me”.

The profile derived from the responses provides supplementary information which may be used in the interview process, as a mechanism to indicate potential performance in promotion or in selection for out-placement.

Typical assessments are used to measure psychological qualities such as reasoning ability and personality traits which give insight in a standardised way, to allow the responses to be compared with other candidates who have taken the assessments previously.

Types of Psychometric Assessment

Aptitude or Ability Tests give an insight into logical reasoning and include:-

  • Verbal reasoning – assessing ability to reason using written information
  • Numerical reasoning – assessing ability to reason using numbers and graphs
  • Diagrammatic or Spatial Reasoning – assessing ability to reason using abstract information and to think logically.
